Khaberni - White House envoy Steve Whitcov announced on Wednesday the launch of the second phase of US President Donald Trump's 20-point plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip, which moves from a ceasefire to disarmament, forming a technocratic Palestinian administration, and beginning reconstruction.
Whitcov said in an official statement that the second phase stipulates the creation of a transitional technocratic Palestinian administration in Gaza, named "The National Committee for Gaza Management," alongside initiating the complete disarmament process.
The statement added that the United States expects full compliance from Hamas with its obligations, including the immediate return of the last deceased detainee.
On his part, the Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aaty confirmed on Wednesday that an agreement was reached on the names of 15 members of the technocrat committee that will manage the Gaza Strip under the American president's plan agreed upon last year.
Abd Abdel Aaty said at a press conference in Cairo, "A consensus has been reached on the members of the administrative committee.. consisting of 15 members."
He added, "We hope that after the consensus, this committee will be announced soon," followed by the implementation of the rest of the agreed items "and propelling this committee into the Gaza Strip to manage the vital affairs."
