Lebanese Minister of Economy We strive to increase trade exchange with Jordan

Khaberni - The Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade, Amer Basat, stated that Jordan and Lebanon have agreed on establishing a rapid response unit to address the common economic challenges and problems between the two countries, affirming that the Jordanian-Lebanese relations are historical and deep-rooted.

Basat, in statements to "Al Mamlaka" channel, on Wednesday evening, on the sidelines of the meeting of the joint Jordanian-Lebanese Higher Committee held in Beirut, explained that intense ministerial meetings between the Jordanian and Lebanese governments preceded the committee meeting, resulting in the signing of 21 joint agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

He pointed out that the signed agreements aim to stimulate trade movement and increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries to about $500 million annually, in addition to facilitating the flow of goods and broadening the horizons of economic cooperation.

He added that both sides also agreed to form a Jordanian-Lebanese business council, which contributes to enhancing the partnership between the private sectors and opening new investment opportunities that serve the mutual interests of both countries.
