Macron warns of unprecedented consequences if Greenlands sovereignty is violated

Khaberni - French President Emmanuel Macron warned that violating Greenland's sovereignty would lead to "unprecedented" consequences, following US President Donald Trump's threat to annex the territory to the United States.

During a cabinet meeting, Macron emphasized that France does not underestimate Trump’s statements about Greenland, warning that touching the sovereignty of a European ally would lead to unprecedented cascading repercussions.

He stressed that France is following developments with the utmost concern and will act within the framework of complete solidarity with Denmark and respect for its sovereignty.

In contrast, Trump continues to assert that Greenland, with its strategic location and mineral wealth, is a vital element for American national security, considering it necessary "to prevent Russia or China from extending their influence over it".

In contrast, both Greenland and Denmark, supported by a number of European Union countries, assert that the island is not for sale, and that the threat of using force is irresponsible, and that security issues should be exclusively addressed within the coordination framework among allies.
