He looked into his cup of coffee for a long time then said to me with a sad calmness... I feel like I'm in a tiring void... I live without feeling that I am alive.
He was neither angry nor complaining... but he was describing a state many people live through... a life that passes with days indistinguishable and time consumed without any direction...
The problem isn't the severity of life, but that we live it without direction... For life without a purpose is like a ship in a vast sea without a compass... It moves but does not know where it is going?
Life goals do not only grant us achievement, but they provide us something more important... They give us a reason to continue, the toil, the patience, and even the failures... They grant us a meaning where fatigue has value, waiting has hope, and failure has wisdom.
The major dilemma is that we want a great goal with a significant impact, and we train ourselves to wait for the right time, the right age, and the right place which might never come.
We are mistaken when we believe that the meaning must be grand and amazing to deserve applause, to save the world, and to change history... Our goals can be as simple as learning a new skill or language... or fixing an old relationship or building a new relationship with people or things so we can taste life...
Our goals might not change the world around us, but they will surely change something within us.. and when the inside changes... life follows quietly and gently
Life does not begin when we know the answers, but when we decide to move for a reason or meaning that makes us feel alive despite everything
Do not wait for the path to clear... Start now, set a small viable goal, a goal not measured by its size but by its ability to move something inside... for the path only becomes clear when we decide to start walking.
The goal of life is not to live it aimlessly... but to give us a direction that makes our days less a waste... and more alive
The goal of life... is to have a purpose
