Unexpected Violence A Father Destroys His Daughters Life Over a Video Game

Khaberni - In a controversial incident, a British court convicted a 28-year-old father after he was accused of attempting to murder his infant daughter, following his violent assault on her during a video game, causing her permanent brain damage that will affect her for life.

The Crown Court in Swansea sentenced Redian Gamison to 35 years in prison, after he pleaded guilty to attempted murder, based on the incident, according to the British newspaper "The Sun".

According to what the court heard, the accused was playing a video game when he lost his temper and forcefully threw his infant daughter towards the television screen. After the assault, he hid the seriously injured child under a bed cover and fled without contacting emergency services or asking for any help.

Deliberate Concealment
The prosecution, through prosecutor Carol Rees KC, reported that the accused took deliberate steps to conceal the crime.

Court sessions revealed that Gamison sent messages to his friends on an online gaming platform after the incident, informing them that he had thrown his daughter towards the TV. Although his friends urged him to call an ambulance, he claimed that the child had already passed away.

The accused was arrested later the same night, where he informed the police that he had killed his daughter. However, the child was later taken to the hospital, where medical examinations revealed severe injuries, including brain bleeding, skull fracture, bleeding in both eyes, as well as bruises and swelling on the face and limbs.

Brain Damage
The doctors confirmed that the child suffered deep brain damage and would require lifelong care and support in all life activities. She also suffers from visual impairment, is likely to experience lifelong epileptic seizures, and exhibits signs of comprehensive developmental delay with indications of cerebral palsy.

During the sentencing, the judge, while addressing the accused, said: "You did not have the courage to come to court today to hear the sentencing. You claim you have been wrongfully convicted, but I see no genuine remorse for what you have done to that child, all your thoughts are focused on yourself, and not on anyone else."

In turn, the child's grandmother sharply criticized the accused, calling him "a monster," for his absence from facing the family during the sentencing.
