Jordan Gas cylinder demands rise to 220000

Khaberni - As the effect of the polar low continues with plummeting temperatures, the head of the Fuel Stations and Distribution Centers Syndicate, Eng. Nahar Al-Saeedat confirmed that the demand in the stations recorded on Tuesday was approximately 220,000 cylinders, up from 200,000 cylinders the day before, according to what was published by Al-Ghad newspaper.

Al-Saeedat noted that the total demands in December last month recorded about 5 million cylinders, reassuring the continuity of supply and meeting the citizens' needs for various types of fuels.

He explained that the distribution process continues uninterrupted until the evening hours, noting that gas stations and centers maintain a secure stock that covers the demand during the current weather conditions.

In turn, the General Manager of the National Electricity Company, Dr. Sofyan Al-Batayneh, said: "The company is prepared to deal with the exceptional weather conditions in general through a set of measures and comprehensive plans that were prepared in advance to face various possible scenarios, ensuring the continuous provision of electricity to the kingdom and maintaining stability and efficiency at the highest levels."

Al-Batayneh added, "During the past period, the company's personnel carried out a series of works, including expanding a number of transformation stations to increase their capacity, in addition to cleaning the insulators at transformation stations and electric transmission lines, as well as conducting maintenance of transmission line towers."

Al-Batayneh confirmed that the monitoring and control center and the field teams at various work locations are fully prepared to maintain network readiness, and efficiently deal with the expected weather situation, pointing to the company's preparedness to handle the expected loads through inspecting the transmission lines and transformation stations, and adopting shift systems in the main transformation stations around the clock, ensuring a quick response to any emergency that may arise on the transmission system in a short period of time.

Al-Batayneh referred to the National Electricity Company's commitment to executing its approved plans according to the highest standards, ensuring ongoing coordination and cooperation with the electricity distribution companies and relevant authorities, to maintain the stability of the national electrical system.

Increase in gas cylinder filling

The Petroleum Refinery Company reaffirmed its capacity to cover citizens' needs during the winter season and to increase the readiness of operation at the three gas filling stations it operates in Amman, Irbid, and Zarqa and to supply the basic oil derivatives to its stations.

The company's spokesperson, Haider Al-Bashaireh, confirmed the company's ability to increase filling rates as needed, especially during weather lows affecting the kingdom, to fill every last cylinder received, also affirming the quality and efficiency of the filled cylinders and their compliance with the standard specifications in terms of safety, security, and approved weight.

Numerically, Al-Bashaireh said that the number of gas cylinders filled at the three stations during the past two days exceeded 345,000 cylinders, with 154,885 cylinders filled on Sunday, while the number rose on Monday to about 190,590 cylinders.

He added that estimates indicate that the number of cylinders expected to be filled by the end of this Tuesday at the three gas stations would reach about 255,000 cylinders, as part of the efforts made to meet the increasing demand and ensure the continuity of supply.
