Khaberni - Former U.S. President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, announced they will refuse to comply with a congressional subpoena to testify in an investigation regarding late businessman Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of sexual crimes.
Bill and Hillary Clinton criticized attempts by a Republican-controlled committee, describing them as "legally unfit," while Republican lawmakers prepare to charge them with contempt of Congress.
In a message published on social media today, Tuesday, Bill and Hillary Clinton told the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Republican James Comer, that they are on the brink of a process "literally designed to result in our imprisonment."
Comer stated that he will begin proceedings to charge them with contempt of Congress next week. This is likely to start a politically messy and complicated process rarely sought by Congress.
