Khaberni - The Minister of Youth, Dr. Raed Sami Al-Adwan, participated in the ordinary session (49) of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, attended by the Secretary-General of the League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and chaired by the United Arab Emirates, which took over the presidency following the Republic of Iraq, with the presence of a number of Arab youth and sports ministers and representatives of youth bodies in Arab countries.
Dr. Al-Adwan stated in exclusive statements to the Jordanian News Agency (Petra) that Jordan's participation in this important Arab forum is part of its commitment to enhancing joint Arab action in youth and sports issues, and exchanging successful experiences and expertise among Arab countries to contribute to the development of youth policies and programs and enable youth to play their active role in the comprehensive development journey as they are the pillar of societies.
He confirmed that the Jordanian Ministry of Youth is about to launch the National Youth Strategy for the years 2026–2030, which represents a qualitative leap compared to previous strategies as it is based on the comprehensive national survey of youth, which aims to collect in-depth data about the situation of Jordanian youth and their priorities and future aspirations.
He pointed out that the results of the survey would provide an accurate national database that contributes to defining the axes of the strategy and the derived executive programs, ensuring that they align with the aspirations of the youth and enhancing the effectiveness of youth policies for the upcoming period.
In a related context, Dr. Al-Adwan praised the achievements of the Jordanian Nashama in Arab and international sports arenas, affirming that these successes are the fruits of the support and care from His Majesty King Abdullah II, and the interest and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince.
Al-Adwan added that what the Jordanian sports achieve today is an accomplishment and the fruits of the ongoing royal efforts in supporting the youth and athletes and providing an environment conducive to creativity and excellence, reflecting Jordan's bright image in various international forums.
Jordan's participation in the activities of this meeting stems from its leading role in focusing on youth and sports issues, reflecting the ongoing and unlimited support provided by His Majesty King Abdullah II, and His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, to empower youth and enhance their participation in the comprehensive development journey, embracing innovative youth initiatives, and consolidating their role as effective partners in shaping the future, in line with national orientations aimed at investing in youth energies and building human capabilities.
It is noted that Jordan participated, prior to the ministerial meeting of the Arab Youth and Sports, in the 72nd session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers and the 46th session of the Board of Directors of the Arab Fund for Youth and Sports Activities chaired by the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi; the member states in the Executive Office are Egypt (the presidency), Jordan, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, UAE, Libya, Kuwait, Palestine, and Iraq.
The meeting raised its recommendations to the 49th session of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers that was held today
