Most water harvesting wells in Mafraq are full

Khaberni - The Director of Agriculture in Mafraq, Dr. Inaam Al-Mashaqbeh, said that the heavy rains since the beginning of the current winter season have contributed to the filling of most of the water harvesting project wells, which were implemented by the Directorate over the past years.

She added, on Tuesday, that the water harvesting wells for collecting rainwater, which benefited 458 citizens, enable beneficiaries to initiate small agricultural projects that meet their needs for some types of crops, in addition to investing the other part, according to Petra.

In turn, several beneficiaries of the project confirmed that the wells have formed a sufficient water reserve thanks to the heavy rainfall the governorate has witnessed, noting that this water will be used in some types of agriculture.

It is noted that last year, the Directorate of Agriculture in Mafraq implemented 458 water harvesting wells as part of two projects: home gardens within the organized areas, and agricultural reclamation outside the organized areas, with a total storage volume of 13,740 cubic meters and a total cost of 687,000 Dinars. These projects were distributed across the Directorate of Agriculture in Mafraq Governorate and all its districts.
