Ahmed Ezz Ordered to Pay Service Fees for Zeinas Twins

Khaberni - The Egyptian Family Appeals Court issued a new ruling in the ongoing dispute between Zeina and Ahmed Ezz, which included ordering him to pay a sum of money as service fees for her twins.

On Tuesday, the Egyptian Family Appeals Court accepted the appeal filed by the Egyptian artist Zeina against the artist Ahmed Ezz, and obliged him to pay 30,000 Egyptian pounds as service fees for her twins, within the framework of the ongoing judicial dispute between the two parties related to the children's expenses.

The ruling was issued in response to Zeina's request, who stated in her lawsuit the importance of providing comprehensive care for her twins, in a manner consistent with their living standards, taking into account the father's income and financial ability, emphasizing that these requirements impose additional burdens necessitating judicial intervention.

The Family Appeals Court had previously issued a ruling obliging the artist Ahmed Ezz to pay a monthly alimony for Zeina's twins, where it decided to reduce the amount ruled by the first-degree court, to 60,000 Egyptian pounds monthly instead of 80,000 Egyptian pounds.

The initial ruling estimated the alimony at 80,000 Egyptian pounds, based on evidence that Ahmed Ezz received a high wage for his role in the movie “Sons of Rizk”, which the court considered a standard reflecting his income level and his ability to afford the expenses.

During the lawsuit proceedings, the artist Zeina submitted official documents indicating that Ahmed Ezz received large fees for his participation in a number of artistic works, including the movie “The Passage” and the series “Abu Omar Al-Masry”, pointing out a clear increase in his income in recent years, which strengthened her claims regarding an increase in the designated expenses for her children.

The roots of the judicial dispute between the two parties go back more than ten years, specifically to 2014, when the artist Zeina resorted to the court to prove the lineage of her twin sons “Ezz El Din” and “Zein El Din”, a case that saw Ahmed Ezz's refusal to undergo a DNA test before a final court ruling affirming the lineage was issued.

In 2017, Zeina obtained a ruling for divorce by khul' from Ahmed Ezz, but the legal disputes between them continued, focusing on alimony and expenses related to the children. In the latest developments of the dispute, the Family Court had obliged the artist Ahmed Ezz in 2023 to pay an amount of 23,306 pounds sterling, equivalent to about one million Egyptian pounds, as the value of the twins Zeina's school expenses for the academic year 2022–2023.
