Khaberni - Tarek Alarian revealed his artistic ambitions and secrets from his career, affirming that collaborating with Robert De Niro is a dream he is striving to achieve.
Director and producer Tarek Alarian was a guest on media personality Abla Salama’s show “You Got Time with Abla,” which is broadcast weekly on MBC Egypt's screen. There, he openly discussed seminal moments in his personal and professional life, revealing his future ambitions and his vision for his artistic career.
Alarian spoke about his relationship with his father, the late producer Riyadh Alarian, noting that he had a strict personality that clearly influenced his professional formation.
He explained that his cinematic debut in the movie “The Emperor” was one of the toughest experiences he has had, yet it marked a real turning point in his career. He confirmed that he still feels his father's moral presence in every success he achieves, especially during private screenings of his works.
Regarding his relationships within the artistic community, Tarek Alarian revealed that the actor Amr Youssef is one of his closest friends on both a personal and professional level, due to their mutual understanding and trust.
As for his artistic dreams, Alarian confirmed that collaborating with the global Hollywood star Robert De Niro represents a significant dream he is pursuing.
He also expressed his desire to return to Hollywood after his experiences in the films “The Emperor” and “The Pasha,” clarifying that some technical obstacles, especially those related to sound quality in "The Pasha," affected his acceptance chances there.
Regarding his professional preferences, Alarian emphasized that directing is his primary passion and closest to his heart compared to producing, considering that the joy of directing is unmatched by any other joy, although he appreciates the role of production in the film industry.
He also clarified that he does not prefer directing music videos, and his direction towards them in the beginning, especially with the artist Amr Diab, was motivated by saving up to produce his own films. He described himself as a naturally calm director, preferring to work quietly and with focus, away from the hustle and bustle.
