Trump looks at Greenland from the White House window

Khaberni - The White House released a photo of American President Donald Trump looking from the White House window at a map of Greenland.

The official White House page on Instagram posted, last Monday evening, a modified photo which originally showed Trump looking at the construction site of a future hall. However, the edited image replaced the construction with a map of Greenland with the caption “monitoring the situation,” just hours after Trump insisted that the United States would control the region “one way or another”.

Trump declared his desire to strike a deal with Greenland, considering it “easier” than taking control of the Arctic region by military force, warning that Russia or China would act if the United States did not. He confirmed that the takeover would occur, even if it led to tensions with NATO and disturbed the military alliance.

Trump told reporters on board the presidential plane Monday: “If it affects NATO, then it will affect them. But as you know, they need us much more than we need them, I assure you of that now.” He added, “Greenland does not want to see Russia or China controlling it,” and noted that the region would benefit from strengthening ties with the United States, especially in defense.

The American president reported that Greenland’s defense primarily relies on two Russian and two Chinese destroyers and submarines. At the same time, Russian and Chinese destroyers and submarines are deployed everywhere. We will not allow this to happen, which Denmark denies.

In response to Trump's statement that the United States needs to own Greenland to prevent Russia or China from occupying it in the future, Beijing said that the United States should not use other countries as a pretext to enhance its strategic interests.

The spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Ning, stated that the Arctic holds great importance for the international community, pointing out that China’s activities in the Arctic aim to promote stability and sustainable development in the region.

Mao emphasized the need to respect the rights and freedoms of all countries to operate legally in the Arctic.
