Khaberni - Samsung Electronics hosted an in-depth panel discussion on Visual Displays (VD) on the sidelines of the Consumer Electronics Show CES 2026 at the Wynn Las Vegas, Nevada. The session, led by S.W. Young, President and Manager of the Visual Display Unit at Samsung Electronics, highlighted Samsung's direction in redefining the role of television in smart homes, based on over two decades of market experience. As the global television market enters a new phase characterized by increased demand for luxury products, larger screens, and smart experiences, Samsung presented its strategy for the future of television.
During the session, Samsung emphasized its focus on expanding the capabilities of televisions through next-generation artificial intelligence technologies, alongside delivering exceptional image quality. The year 2026 is expected to be a pivotal milestone for the Visual Display business, with Micro RGB and OLED leading the premium TV category, while mini LED technology broadens access to advanced television technologies, and ultra-large screens enhance immersive entertainment experiences both inside and outside homes. Consequently, the full range of Samsung products will offer its advanced screen experience to a broader consumer segment, enhancing the company's leadership in performance and innovation.
Young said: "Today we are witnessing a transformation in the way viewers interact with the television experience, from a viewing-based model to one based on direct interaction. As television evolves, Samsung continues to strengthen its leadership position year after year, building on its long-standing legacy in the field of premium devices."
Enhancing the television experience through Vision AI
At the core of Samsung's 2026 strategy is the Vision AI Companion (VAC) platform, a new smart platform aimed at making the television experience smoother, more interactive, and personalized. The platform integrates across most of Samsung's television range, understanding what users are watching, proactively offering what they need, and displaying useful contextual information directly on the screen, transforming the TV from a traditional display into an active element in daily life.
By integrating artificial intelligence technologies into its ecosystem, Samsung is expanding the role of television beyond entertainment, providing deeper integration with smart home devices and more interactive experiences. This strategy reflects Samsung's commitment to delivering connected experiences that adapt to users, while maintaining the image quality and performance reliability that consumers continue to prioritize.
Redefining size, design, and lifestyle innovations
During the session, Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Unit at Samsung, provided additional details about Samsung’s new 130-inch Micro RGB television, a leading technological achievement in the industry, and reaffirmed the company’s ongoing commitment to innovating television experiences connected to lifestyle.
Hun Lee stated: "As the quality of content improves, it's natural for users to seek an immersive experience. As we develop our products, Samsung focuses on tangible experiences provided by technologies like the VAC platform, not just on their technical specifications."
As Samsung celebrates twenty consecutive years as the top television brand worldwide, the session underscored that leadership is achieved through continuous innovation. By combining excellence in hardware and smart, connected experiences, Samsung is aiming to shape a future where television transcends image quality to offer intelligent, personalized, and valuable experiences in homes around the world.
