Khaberni - Turkish media reported on Tuesday that authorities in Ankara had arrested and interrogated a Cypriot flight attendant regarding the incident of the crash of the Libyan chief of staff First Team Corner Mohammad Haddad and his companions.
The Turkish site TR724 reported, citing investigative reports published on T24, that Turkish authorities had detained a Cypriot-nationality flight attendant who was part of the doomed plane's crew brought to Turkey before the incident. This was part of ongoing investigations concerning the crash of the Libyan plane.
The report clarified that the flight attendant was interrogated inside the anti-terrorism branch in Ankara, by decision of the public prosecutor's office and with direct involvement from the Turkish Intelligence Organization (MIT), due to the sensitivity of the case and the importance of the individuals aboard the doomed plane, as well as the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to the source, the investigations are not limited to traditional judicial and security agencies but also include the Turkish Intelligence Organization, amidst complex questions regarding the nature of the trip and its security arrangements.
The report highlighted two central questions that have emerged after the accident:
First, why did the Libyan delegation arrive this time on a private plane rather than the usual flights?
Second, the reason for changing the crew of the plane that transported the aircraft belonging to a company operating from Malta to Turkey, before eventually returning it to Libya.
The sources confirmed that the investigations are still ongoing and confidential, awaiting broader technical and security results that may contribute to unveiling the circumstances of the incident and related backgrounds, amid increasing media and security interest inside and outside Turkey.
