Jerash Municipality deals with 315 cases during the winter season without recording any damages

Khaberni - Since the beginning of the winter season, Jerash Greater Municipality has dealt with 315 different cases, including water accumulation, soil erosion, and rising stream levels, as well as 17 cases handled during the current weather depression, without recording any risks to individuals or properties.
Mohammed Bani Yasin, head of the municipal committee, said to the Jordanian News Agency (Petra) today, Tuesday, that the municipality had taken all proactive measures before the season started to ensure the safety of citizens and the protection of their properties, which included inspecting stormwater drain systems, checking machinery and equipment, and preparing a comprehensive emergency plan and establishing an operations room in Jerash Greater Municipality.
Bani Yasin pointed out that the municipality had published emergency room and complaint numbers on social media platforms to facilitate communication with citizens, noting that most of the cases dealt with by the municipality were related to water accumulation, soil erosion, and rising stream levels, which were efficiently addressed.
He explained that the municipal teams had treated the "River of Gold" valley over a 14-kilometer stretch from "Sof" area through Sof Camp to the city of Jerash, to ensure water flow and reduce risks. Additionally, 8 families living near stream channels were relocated to ensure their safety.
He confirmed that the municipality would continue to work, after the end of the winter season, on constructing and expanding water drainage networks and addressing hotspots that experience frequent water accumulations as part of a comprehensive plan to reduce future risks, in their commitment to serve citizens and protect their properties.
