Khaberni - Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Raji believed that the ceasefire agreement was in Israel's favor, considering that as long as weapons are not fully controlled, Israel unfortunately has the right to continue its attacks in accordance with the agreement.
Raji said in a television interview that it would be useful to re-explain the content of the ceasefire agreement, noting that a Lebanese party declared a war to support Gaza without the knowledge or approval of the Lebanese state, government, or people, and it was a unilateral decision that brought war and destruction to Lebanon.
He stated that the outcome was a major defeat for the team that fought the war, leading the Lebanese authorities to intervene in coordination with the United States, France, and Arab countries to reach an agreement to cease operations.
He considered that this agreement, unfortunately, was in Israel's favor and not in the interest of the Lebanese team that entered the war, which along with the previous Lebanese government, accepted the Israeli terms under the guarantee of the United States.
He emphasized that the agreement stipulates the handover of Hezbollah's weapons and the dismantling of its military system, and limiting weapons to five specified legitimate institutions, in exchange for Israel ceasing its attacks, considering that the agreement benefits Israel, and that as long as weapons are not fully controlled, Israel unfortunately has the right to continue its attacks in accordance with the agreement's text.
He explained that the state is striving to control weapons in the interest of the Lebanese people and regain sovereignty over all territories, because all files are connected to this, from aid to economic recovery, reconstruction, and investments.
He confirmed that donor countries require the control of weapons and implementation of economic reforms, and that regaining investor confidence and the regular functioning of political and economic operations cannot be achieved with the presence of weapons outside state legitimacy.
