Closing the Abdoun Corridor tunnel towards Airport Street due to rain

Khaberni - This Tuesday morning, the tunnel leading to Airport Street from the incoming traffic direction of the Abdoun Corridor was closed due to elevated water levels.

The Amman Greater Municipality crews began working on opening the tunnel and restoring the traffic flow.

The rainwater led to elevated water levels in various areas and streets in the capital Amman, including main ones, disrupting the movement of vehicles and pedestrians despite the preparations announced by the municipality beforehand.

According to the municipality, the water level rose in Zaid Bin Khalid Street in the Jawa area, the main Al-Bunayyat Street, and in several streets in the northern areas of Amman as citizens reported.

Generally, traffic movement in the streets needs to be handled with extreme caution due to flood formation following the heavy rain and its intensity, in addition to the heavy hail in several areas.
