Khaberni - The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has noted an acceleration in the pace of Israeli violations in the provinces of Daraa and Quneitra, including more than 21 ground incursions since the beginning of the current year.
The Observatory said in a press release today, Tuesday: "The matter was not limited to the mechanical movements of the Israeli forces only, but also included blowing up civilian facilities, detaining citizens, and raising Israeli flags over strategic hills, at a time when the transitional Syrian government remains silent, without moving the military forces stationed in the region to defend national sovereignty."
It pointed out that "the violations did not stop at this point, but the infiltrating units also proceeded to blow up what remained of the structure of the Golan Hospital in the demolished city of Quneitra, and raised the Israeli flag over Tel Al-Ahmar in Quneitra within Syrian territory, amid heavy gunfire in Al-Hamidiyah in Quneitra countryside to intimidate the local residents and prevent them from approaching the area."
Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime, Israeli operations in the region have continued, with almost daily incursions in the countryside of Quneitra and Daraa, accompanied by arrests, some of whom were later released, while others remain detained to date.
Syria consistently demands the withdrawal of Israeli forces from its territory, affirming that all actions taken in southern Syria are void and invalid, and have no legal effect according to international law, and calls on the international community to uphold its responsibilities and deter Israeli practices.
