Increased Demand for Winter Clothes in Jordan with Competitive Prices

Khaberni - Sultan Allan, the head of the Garment, Footwear and Fabric Traders, said on Tuesday that the demand for winter goods in the local market is higher than average, emphasizing their availability in "excellent" quantities that meet market needs.

Allan expects in his talk that the winter season will extend until the upcoming Ramadan, explaining that the turnout in December 2025 is better than in October and November due to changing weather conditions from rain and cold.

Allan believes that the prices in the local market are competitive compared to online shopping sites.

Regarding the countries from which winter goods are imported, Allan said that the People's Republic of China ranks first with about 42% followed by Turkey with 24%, along with some other Arab, foreign, and Asian countries.

He said that the annual imports of garments amount to about 250 million dinars, most of which are for winter clothing, while shoe imports amount to 70 million dinars.

The garment and footwear sector in Jordan includes more than 11,000 traders and employs about 60,000 workers, the majority of whom are Jordanians.
