Will Smith Celebrates the Launch of From Pole to Pole in Dubais Sustainable City

Khaberni - Last night, global star Will Smith was in Dubai to participate in the regional premiere of the new National Geographic documentary series "From Pole to Pole with Will Smith".

The "C" Institute for Sustainability Research and Education hosted the event, which is the first zero-emissions building in the region and is located within the Sustainable City in Dubai, where government officials, regional celebrities, and content creators gathered to view this work that combines global exploration with environmental storytelling.

A journey that took 100 days across seven continents
The attendees watched a special screening of the first episode of the 7-part series, followed by a live on-stage discussion featuring Will Smith and three of the scientists and explorers who accompanied him, namely Alison Fung, Richard Parks, and Brian Fry.

The series, which took 5 years to produce, documents Smith's adventure across the seven continents over 100 days, from the ice fields of Antarctica to the Amazon forests, the Himalayas, the deserts of Africa, the islands of the Pacific Ocean, and finally to the ice mountains of the Arctic.

Engineer Fares Saied, founder and chairman of "C Holdings" group, the developer of the Sustainable City, commented that the series reminds us that true progress is not only measured by technological advancement but by how deeply we connect with our humanity and our planet.

He added that the cities of the future should not separate humans from nature but should bring them closer to it through environments where technology supports life and communities thrive.

Regional airing times
The series will be shown on the National Geographic channel on January 13, 2026, at 8:00 PM UAE time, and on National Geographic Abu Dhabi on January 14 at 9:00 PM. It will also be available for exclusive streaming on the Disney+ platform starting from the same day.
