Khaberni - New data revealed details of the contract that links Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid, where the club included a clear clause stating that the Spanish coach is entitled to only one season's salary in case the contract is terminated within its first year, without the obligation to pay the full value of the three-season contract.
The Spanish newspaper COPE mentioned that this clause reflects a cautious approach by the club's management in dealing with the current stage, giving it a wider margin to make decisive decisions without long-term financial burdens on Real Madrid.
Regarding the coach's relationship with the players, it explained: "Simultaneously, signs of tension within the locker room began to emerge, after it was rumored that the relationship between Xabi Alonso and some players was not well during the past period."
It added: "Informed sources indicated that the disputes are no longer confined to just the internal framework, but are expected to reflect on the field during upcoming matches, where a change in the behavior and performance of some players is expected to become clearer, which may gradually reveal the identities of those who are out of sync with the coach."
It continued: "These atmospheres prompted Xabi Alonso to express his dissatisfaction directly to the club's management, where he was quoted saying that giving players this amount of influence within the team weakens the coach's authority and makes it difficult to enforce discipline or control the locker room."
It further stated: "The Spanish coach emphasized that the success of any technical project requires clear support from the administration for the technical staff, especially during moments of tension or disagreement with some elements inside the team."
It concluded: "Alonso believed that always standing by the players, at the expense of coach's decisions, undermines the principle of leadership within the team, making the control of the group almost impossible."
