Khaberni - The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research affirmed today, Monday, that the decision to postpone university schedules or switch to an e-learning system is within the discretionary powers of the university presidents, according to their respective field circumstances.
The ministry's spokesperson, Mohannad Al-Khatib, told the Jordanian News Agency (Petra), that universities have the legal flexibility to make appropriate decisions, ensuring the safety of students and members of both the teaching and administrative staff, in line with updates related to the weather conditions surrounding each university.
Al-Khatib emphasized the importance of students following their universities' official websites and their verified social media accounts, as they are the only source for any decisions related to schedules or teaching mechanisms.
The ministry urged students to exercise caution and care while commuting, and to be technically prepared in case of a transition to remote learning, by ensuring the readiness of electronic platforms and their university accounts, to guarantee the continuation of the educational process without obstacles, amid the kingdom being affected by the weather depression.
The ministry stressed the importance of following the instructions of relevant authorities, noting that the safety of students remains a top priority, wishing everyone continued security and safety during these weather conditions.
