The Ministry of Water and Irrigation announced measures aimed at improving the work environment and enhancing job stability at Yarmouk Water Company following the achievements made by the company in developing its services, reducing its debt, and improving the water supply in the northern governorates managed by the company.
In a press statement, it confirmed that these measures are part of the preparations for the management contract scheduled to be signed for Yarmouk Water Company next March, contributing to enhancing institutional readiness, operational efficiency, and ensuring the continuity of services provided to citizens during the transition phase, developing the company’s performance and improving services provided in all areas within an integrated reform approach to develop the water sector, in accordance with the best practices adopted in water facilities management.
The company's management mentioned the signing of a collective agreement with the workers in the presence of representatives of the union for workers in water, agriculture, food industries, and the company's union committee, aimed at improving the work environment and the conditions of employees and equating them with workers in government water companies. This includes an increase in the cost of living allowance to become (150) dinars starting from 1/1/2026, an increase of 1% in the company’s contribution to the savings fund, and the payment of the fourteenth month’s salary at the end of each year under a special system to be prepared and approved before 1/6/2026. Also, it involves regularizing the status of employees in the company on the system of checks and service purchase contracts after completing the study formed by the board of directors and the mechanism to be prepared for this purpose.
The agreement reaffirms the commitment of all employees to develop the company's performance and provide the best services to citizens, ensuring more achievements in improving the company's services, achieving its vision and mission, and ensuring the sustainability of water and sanitation services to the highest standards.
According to the statement, the ministry said that the company has achieved tangible achievements recently, characterized by more than halving its losses and improvements in the services provided and reducing the time of service delivery.
