Her Majesty expressed her pleasure with the visit to Hikma that began with a dream by Dr. Samih Darwazah and launched from Jordan to the world. She praised the opportunities that are given to women and encouraged them to engage in scientific fields that serve this sector.
Her Majesty exchanged conversations with several women working in various departments including research and development, regulatory and medical affairs, marketing, pharmacovigilance, production, operations, and quality, listening to their success stories in their fields and the impact on their families and communities.
It is noted that Hikma Pharmaceuticals was established in Jordan in 1978 by the late Samih Taleb Darwazah, who was a prominent supporter of women's empowerment in the workplace, and believed in the importance of providing equal opportunities for professional growth. Today, women represent 36% of the workforce at Hikma's global locations, and 28% in Jordan.
