Personal problems and violent confrontation with his wife Finding a French deputy injured in the head in eastern France

Khaberni - The French police found on Sunday Antoine Villedieu, a member of parliament for the right-wing National Rally party, injured with a head wound in the streets of Vesoul, eastern France.

"Le Parisien" reported on Monday, citing security sources, that Villedieu (36 years old), who has represented the first district in the Haute-Saône department since 2022, was bleeding from a head wound when found. He appeared disturbed and showed signs of hallucination, prompting the intervention of several police officers to transport him to the hospital. Villedieu, a former boxer and twice world champion in mixed martial arts, is receiving medical care, and his condition is now stable.

The sources indicated that the deputy, after regaining consciousness, explained that he had been going through a difficult period of personal problems in recent days, and that he had been taking medical drugs. The authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the incident, as the cause of his injury has not yet been definitively determined.

As part of the investigation, the police interrogated several of Villedieu's acquaintances, including his wife, who reported a verbal altercation between them a few days earlier, which resulted in an injury to her arm, but she did not file any formal complaint.

The public prosecutor's office in Vesoul has ordered a second interview with the deputy in the coming days, during which he will be asked to clarify whether he had experienced any form of violence, or whether his wife had also experienced it.
