Khaberni - The National Electricity Company has confirmed its full readiness to handle the upcoming weather depression and the accompanying noticeable drop in temperatures, which is expected to lead to an increase in electrical loads on the national network.
The General Director of the National Electricity Company, Sofian Al-Batayneh, said on Monday that the company is prepared to deal with the expected exceptional weather conditions, through a set of comprehensive measures and plans that have been previously established to deal with various possible scenarios, to ensure the continuous supply of electricity to the kingdom and its stability, with the highest levels of efficiency, reliability, and minimizing the impact of the weather depression on the network.
Al-Batayneh added that the company's teams have carried out a series of works in the past period that included the expansion of several substations to increase their capacity, cleaning the insulators for substations and electrical transmission lines, in addition to maintaining transmission line towers.
He confirmed that the Monitoring and Control Center and field teams in various work locations are fully ready to maintain the readiness of the electrical network and efficiently handle the expected weather condition.
He noted the company's readiness to handle the loads through inspecting transmission lines and substations, and adopting a shift system at main substations around the clock, which ensures quick response to any emergencies that may occur on the transmission system in a short time.
Al-Batayneh pointed out the commitment of the National Electricity Company to implement its approved plans according to the highest standards, confirming ongoing coordination and cooperation with electricity distribution companies and relevant authorities, ensuring the stability of the national electrical system.
