Khaberni - American actor Noah Wyle marked a significant milestone in his artistic career after winning his first Golden Globe Award for his role in the series The Pitt, during the ceremony held on Sunday evening at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, California.
Wyle described his winning moment as an experience of "ecstasy and detachment from reality," expressing his immense gratitude for this unprecedented moment in his life.
He said in his speech on stage: "What a truly humble moment.. I feel immense gratitude, and I don't know how to summarize 54 years of gratitude in 60 seconds," adding that he owes a lot to many who inspired him, including his fellow nominees in the same category.
Wyle received the award from stars Priyanka Chopra and Lisa Manoban (of Blackpink), prevailing over a strong list of nominees including Sterling K. Brown, Diego Luna, Gary Oldman, Mark Ruffalo, and Adam Scott.
During his speech, Wyle paid a special tribute to healthcare workers, noting that his upbringing played a fundamental role in shaping his artistic and human consciousness, saying: "I grew up in a family that prioritizes art, curiosity, learning, and believes in the importance of serving others."
He also thanked his wife Sara Wells and their three children, emphasizing that they have been a fundamental support throughout his journey, before offering a special birthday congratulations to his wife, which coincided with the day of the ceremony.
On the red carpet, Wyle appeared wearing a double-breasted black suit, alongside his wife who chose a shoulder-less blue dress, in a striking look that reflected the celebratory atmosphere of this exceptional milestone.
The ceremony also saw The Pitt win the award for Best Television Drama Series, despite the absence of most of the cast members on the occasion, as invitations are usually limited to the nominees, award presenters, and a limited number of guests.
In the backstage, Wyle spoke extensively about the messages carried by the series, explaining that The Pitt was conceived during the coronavirus pandemic to highlight the conditions of healthcare workers, and what he described as the duplicity of the healthcare system in the United States.
He pointed out a clear gap in the level of care among different groups, emphasizing that the work aims to restore consideration for the role of paramedics, doctors, and nurses, and discuss the crises they faced over the past years.
Wyle added that the goal in the second season of the series is not to dazzle, but to remain faithful to the characters and human stories, saying that real success lies in repeating what worked previously without falling into the trap of exaggeration.
Noah Wyle's Golden Globe win crowns a series of recent successes, as he won the Critics' Choice Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series in early January (January), and also won an Emmy for Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series in September (September) last year, confirming his status as one of the leading stars of television drama at the present time.
