Khaberni - School administrations in the United Arab Emirates, applying the curriculum of the Ministry of Education, have started implementing strict measures to prevent the entry and circulation of unhealthy food inside school premises, in compliance with the ministry's instructions aimed at preserving students' health, and promoting healthy lifestyle patterns within the educational environment.
School administrations have clarified in communications addressed to students and parents, which «Emarat Al Youm» has seen, that students have been previously warned not to bring sodas, all types of chips and unhealthy foods, affirming that, starting from today, these regulations will be effectively applied through daily inspection campaigns within the schools, with the confiscation of any food items non-compliant with approved instructions.
The administrations have emphasized that these measures apply to all educational stages without exception, reaffirming that the goal is to instill nutritional awareness among students, accustoming them to choosing healthy alternatives that contribute to improving their overall health and concentration levels during the school day. The administrations also stressed the need for students to bring healthy meals from home or purchase approved healthy foods available at the school canteens, according to the dietary lists approved by the Ministry of Education, consistent with specialized health guidelines on school nutrition. They have called on parents to monitor their children, educate them about the importance of adhering to health and dietary instructions, and cooperate with schools to ensure the success of these measures, confirming that the implementation of these policies is part of a comprehensive plan aimed at creating a safe and healthy school environment that supports students' health and contributes to enhancing their academic readiness and achievements.
