Tragic End to a Wedding Ceremony Gas Explosion Ends the Lives of a Bride and Groom and Their Guests in Pakistan

Khaberni - At least eight people died, including a bride and groom on their wedding night, and seven others were injured with varying degrees of wounds, following a violent gas cylinder explosion inside a house in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, on Sunday evening. The tragic incident occurred just hours after the wedding ceremony ended, causing parts of the house to collapse.

Rescue teams rushed to transfer the victims and the injured to nearby hospitals amidst a state of shock and sorrow that prevailed in the area.

The police explained that the explosion occurred while the guests were sleeping inside the house, leading to a partial collapse of the building and damage to several neighboring homes.

The government administrative officer, Sahebzada Yusuf, confirmed that investigations are still ongoing to determine the causes of the incident, according to bbc.

The Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif, expressed his sorrow for the loss of lives, offered condolences to their families, directed health authorities to provide the best possible care for the injured, and ordered a comprehensive investigation to determine the circumstances of the explosion.

Many residents of Pakistan rely on liquefied gas cylinders due to weak natural gas supplies, and their use has previously been linked to several fatal accidents due to gas leaks, making safety in their use a continuous issue for local authorities.
