Concurrent with the protests Reza Pahlavi talks about his return to Iran

Khaberni - Reza Pahlavi, son of the former Shah of Iran, confirmed on Sunday that he is ready to return to Iran from his residence in the United States and lead a transitional phase toward a democratic government.

Speaking to "Fox News," Pahlavi said, "I am ready to return to Iran as soon as possible. I am actually planning for it.".

In the midst of the protests taking place in Iran, he added: "My mission is to lead this transition to ensure that everything necessary is done, with full transparency, to give people the opportunity to freely elect their leaders and decide on their future."

On Saturday, Pahlavi posted a video on the social networking platform "X" calling on the Iranian people to strike, emphasizing that the goal of the protests should be to take control of the streets and strategically important facilities.

The protests in Iran began in late December 2025 due to the devaluation of the local currency, the Iranian Rial.

The protests primarily focused on the sharp fluctuations in the exchange rate and their impact on wholesale and retail prices.

Against this backdrop, the head of the Central Bank of Iran, Mohammad Farzin, resigned, and Abdul Nasser Hemmati took over the position.

In several Iranian cities, protests turned into clashes with the police, accompanied by chants against the current political system.
