The Outlaws movie ignites a verbal war between the producer and the director

Khaberni - Despite 3 full years since the first showing of the Egyptian film "The Outlaws", which stars Ahmed Hatem, Eyad Nassar, and Tara Emad, it recently ignited a "verbal war" between its producer and writer Salah El-Jehini on one side and its director Yasser Sami on the other.

The two parties exchanged harsh accusations of responsibility for the "commercial failure of the film," as it only made six and a half million Egyptian pounds after many weeks at the box office, an amount that successful films achieve within two to three days at most.

The start was with Salah El-Jehini making television statements, expressing his dissatisfaction with the final outcome of the project, considering that "the fundamental mistake was the choice of director."

El-Jehini said that he "loves many elements in the film, from the script and behind-the-scenes to the relationship with the actors, but he does not like the film itself," pointing out that "director Yasser Sami was not suitable to lead the project, and as a producer, he bears responsibility for this decision, especially since he was forced to shoot under pressing circumstances."

For his part, Sami emphasized that "describing the film as a failure is inaccurate," considering that "what happened was the result of poor production management and not a directorial failure."

He explained in media statements that he "faced the challenge under very difficult circumstances, yet he made a great effort to save the work despite limited resources," adding that "the attacks against him came from people who did not fulfill their production promises," according to him.

He added, saying: "I made a poor choice in selecting a production partner, as Salah El-Jehini did not provide the necessary production requirements for the film's success."

And Sami defended his artistic career, affirming that he "has delivered successful and impactful works, among them the series (The End) which garnered him praise and awards, in addition to his work with major global platforms, most notably Netflix."

Participating in the main cast of "The Outlaws" are Taha Desouky, Mostafa Ghareeb, Mohammed Mahmoud, Mahmoud El Leithy, Mahmoud Hafez, Mahmoud El Bezawy, Hassan Malek. The events of the movie unfold in a comedic setting about an Egyptian young man who returns from the United States after his father's death to take over his inheritance, only to find himself facing a football club threatened with collapse called "The Outlaws," leading him on a journey filled with humorous situations and ironies.
