Khaberni - Arab Bank and the Haya Cultural Center recently concluded the "Financial Knowledge and Technological Innovation" program, implemented over three months, targeting children and adolescents from public schools and charitable associations in the capital Amman, and the governorates of Balqa, Zarqa, and Madaba. The support of Arab Bank for this program stems from its firm commitment to corporate responsibility and its focus on investing in the energies of emerging generations, providing them with knowledge and skills that enhance their future role and qualify them for active participation in building a more aware and innovative society.
Through the program, 285 participants were enabled to acquire financial, technological, and creative skills through a practical educational experience that enhanced their knowledge and capabilities in an innovative and interactive manner. The curriculum combined practical education with technology and arts, offering an integrated model that brings financial concepts closer to the daily reality of children and adolescents, contributing to the instillation of saving principles and the development of creative thinking skills. The practical aspect included "Smart Piggy Bank" workshops that allowed children aged 9–14 years to design piggy banks capable of counting coins using Arduino technologies, alongside the Junior Robot activity that allowed adolescents to experience building an interactive robot that emits light and sound signals in response to the insertion of coins, providing participants with the opportunity to learn the basics of programming, electronics, and mechanics.
Additionally, volunteers from Arab Bank participated in implementing the activities, providing practical support and supervising the educational experiments, reinforcing the bank's role in investing in the energies of emerging generations within the framework of its social responsibility.
In this context, Reem Al-Adwan, the General Manager of Haya Cultural Center, said: "We are proud of our purposeful and ongoing collaboration with Arab Bank, which enabled us to design and implement innovative educational programs that introduce children and adolescents to the importance of saving through the arts and experiential learning, equipping them with technological and knowledge skills that boost their self-confidence and open future horizons. This cooperation represents a pivotal step in our vision to reach as many children and adolescents in Jordan as possible, regardless of their locations and abilities."
In this framework, Professor Diaa Sarhan, the supervisor and executor of the program's workshops at Haya Cultural Center, said: "We were pleased to work with children and adolescents in a program that combines financial knowledge and technology in a practical and interactive manner. We noted a clear development in the participants' understanding of saving and innovation concepts, along with their enthusiasm to experience modern technologies and build creative solutions on their own. Such programs contribute to discovering children's capabilities, developing their skills, and confirming the importance of practical learning in preparing a generation capable of creative thinking and meeting future demands."
It should be noted that the program was implemented in cooperation with 17 community associations, which enhanced access to children in their local environments, and increased participation level supporting the principle of equal educational opportunities and maximizing the social impact of the initiative.
Haya Cultural Center, established in 1976 as the first non-profit cultural institution in Jordan, continues its role in developing educational and cultural activities aimed at children and adolescents, reflecting Arab Bank's support for this program rooted in its community responsibility strategy aiming to achieve a sustainable positive impact in education and community development areas.
It is worth mentioning that Arab Bank adopts a comprehensive and integrated strategy in sustainability and social responsibility, stemming from its commitment to achieving a tangible positive impact on both economic and social levels, besides its commitment to sustainable environmental practices.
