Khaberni - inaugurated Doctor Maher Al-Horani, the Vice President of the Board of Trustees of Amman Al-Ahliyya University and Chairman of its Board of Directors the TEDxAAU platform yesterday 10-1-2026 at the Arena Theater at the university in the presence of the university president Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan and its deans, and a large group of faculty members, influencers, students, and thinkers.
He stated in his participation on the platform: The reason for success is keeping up with developments and providing the requirements for change and quick decision-making, giving several examples including the early stages of establishing Arena complex, referring to his father, the late Dr. Ahmed Al-Horani's support for the idea, and touching on the development of the university since 2017 when dozens of majors were cancelled and new ones needed in the job market were introduced, in addition to providing modern equipment throughout the different faculties and laboratories, and the introduction of artificial intelligence in all faculties and majors as a basic requirement , praising the efforts of Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, the president of the university for many years and the efforts of the university team.
He gave an example of failing to keep up with changes and updates, referring to Steve Ballmer, the CEO of Nokia, crying as he announced the sale of the company to Microsoft saying, "We did nothing wrong... but somehow, we lost," as his company did not adapt to the technological revolution, remaining stuck in yesterday's mindset while the world races toward tomorrow.
He pointed out the advancement in the university's schools and dairy companies and other companies of the Al-Horani group, and to the humanitarian and social efforts provided by the group serving the local community, and support and assistance to students which the late Dr. Ahmed Al-Horani was keen on sustaining, mentioning Ataa Charitable Association, and the efforts of Deputy Andre Al-Azouni.
He emphasized that when you work for your life think of the impact, be proactive and think to be a leader not just an employee, and think and act on the country level not just in a narrow scope.
He addressed his speech to the upcoming generations, assuring that you are capable of making a difference, leading change, and building a brighter future with audacity and the ability to have an impact.
It is worth mentioning that TEDx TEDx is an international program that allows individuals and organizations to organize local, independent conferences similar to the experience of global "TED" conferences.
TEDx aims to spread "ideas worth spreading" and highlight inspiring stories and innovations in the fields of science, technology, arts, and humanitarian issues.
