Khaberni - In a new academic achievement added to the record of Amman Arab University, rich in scientific excellence, and as part of its continuous efforts to boost its presence in international rankings and establish its position in the field of quality scientific research, Dr. Mohammed Fawaier, a faculty member in the College of Aviation Sciences/Aircraft Maintenance Department, has been selected as an editor for a special issue of the international scientific journal (Drones) published by the global publishing house (MDPI), which is classified in the first category (Q1) with the title: “Skybound Surveillance: Enhancing Road Network Efficiency with Drone Inspections”.
This selection is a result of the stimulating academic environment for leadership and scientific excellence adopted by Amman Arab University, with continuous support and guidance from Professor Mohammad Al-Widian, the university president. This reflects the high scientific competence of the faculty members and their robust research expertise at both regional and international levels. The special issue focuses on an advanced research theme that utilizes drone inspection technologies (Drone Inspections) to enhance the efficiency of road networks and develop smart surveillance applications for infrastructure and transportation sectors, aligning with the rapidly evolving global trends towards adopting innovative engineering solutions in asset and vital services management. This also contributes to enhancing the university’s research presence in this specialized field and reflects the commitment of the College of Aviation Sciences at Amman Arab University in elevating the quality of applied scientific research provided by its faculty members, overseen and directed by Professor Malik Al-Salem Al-Anaqreh, the Dean of the College, affirming the pivotal role of faculty members in engaging in advanced international scientific tasks, particularly editorial work and scientific arbitration roles in peer-reviewed journals, which directly enhances the quality of academic outputs and boosts the reputation of the college and university at regional and international levels.
It is worth mentioning that the journal (Drones) is considered one of the international peer-reviewed scientific journals classified in the first category Q1, with an Impact Factor (Impact Factor) of (4.8) according to Journal Citation Reports, in addition to a Cite Score of (7.4) in the Scopus database, and it is indexed in Web of Science (SCIE) and Scopus. It adopts an open access publishing model. It should be noted that Dr. Mohammed Fawaier holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Jordan University, and Master's and Doctoral degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Budapest University of Technology and Economics, and he has a number of peer-reviewed scientific research papers published in prestigious international journals, in addition to his continuous participation in the scientific arbitration for various scientific journals and periodicals.
