Jordan Rural Penny supplies 161 homes and sites with electricity at a cost of 580000 dinars

Khaberni -  The Supreme Steering Committee for the Rural Penny, during a meeting chaired by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, approved the lists of homes and sites benefiting from the connection of electricity through conventional networks, totaling 161 homes and sites, at a total cost of 580,000 dinars.

 

Minister Al-Kharabsheh said in a press statement that the committee approved a group of projects and sites that will be connected to the electricity on the account of the Rural Penny including residential groups and economic activities, following expansions in this service according to the amendments introduced to the principles of electricity connection under the Rural Penny as of last December.

 

On his part, the Director of Electricity and Rural Electrification in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Engineer Hisham Al-Momani, presented the details of the decisions, explaining that they include residential groups consisting of five homes outside the regulatory boundaries, with a total cost of 184,000 dinars.

 

He added that the decisions also included residential groups consisting of at least three homes outside the regulatory boundaries, at a cost of 74,000 dinars, in addition to individual homes located outside the regulatory boundaries and benefiting from existing networks, with a total cost of 41,000 dinars.

 

Al-Momani also clarified that the list approved by the supreme committee included homes of modest families located within the regulatory boundaries in the concession areas of electricity companies, with a total cost of one thousand dinars, within the framework of supporting modest families with limited income.

 

The list also included Rural Penny-supported projects of poultry and livestock farms and fish farms located outside the regulatory boundaries, where the total value of the implemented projects on the account of the Rural Penny was 28,000 dinars, believing in the ministry's role in supporting farmers, encouraging the production of animal wealth, and enhancing self-reliance.

 

The approved categories also included lighting roads leading to cemeteries, at a cost of 10,000 dinars, to facilitate citizens during the burial of their dead during night periods.

 

Al-Momani pointed out that the Rural Penny also contributed to supporting productive, industrial, and investment projects located in poverty pockets and outside regulatory boundaries, according to the approved principles, provided that these projects provide job opportunities for Jordanians from their local areas, where the contribution of the Rural Penny to these projects reached 153,000 dinars.

 

Al-Momani further explained that the targeted categories included farms incorporating artesian wells located outside the regulatory boundaries, with a total cost of 12,000 dinars, in support of farmers, promoting the agricultural sector, and contributing to food security.

 

The Rural Penny also contributed to connecting electricity to projects of governmental sectors and agricultural and charitable cooperatives, with a total cost of 34,000 dinars.
