Khaberni - American company Malwarebytes, specializing in cybersecurity, stated that a group of unknown hackers have stolen data from more than 17 million accounts on the social networking platform "Instagram".
The company wrote in a statement published on a social networking Х: "Cyber criminals have managed to steal sensitive information from 17.5 million Instagram accounts, including usernames, mailing addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and more".
On its part, Notebookcheck, a leading and trusted international source specialized in in-depth reviews, testing, and news related to laptops, tablets, and smartphones, reported that the cyber criminals may use the stolen data in phishing attacks and account thefts.
According to the site, in 2024 a security breach occurred which led to the current leakage and theft.
