Khaberni - U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright told reporters that the U.S. administration is still discussing the possibility of conducting a nuclear test, but no concrete plans have been made so far.
Wright, in response to a question about whether his country was ready to resume nuclear testing and when this would happen, said: "This is an ongoing dialogue."
He added: "President Donald Trump's commitment in this regard is the necessity to maintain a significant superiority. Our nuclear arsenal must be substantially better than those of all our adversaries in the world."
When asked specifically about how these tests would be conducted, Wright said: "There is no specific plan on how to do this."
He added: "Thanks to technology and simulation, we can test all parts of the nuclear weapon except for the radioactive part, and we have very good control over the quality of the process."
President Donald Trump had announced on October 29 that he had instructed the Pentagon to resume nuclear testing immediately, indicating that other countries were already conducting such tests. He did not specify the type of tests he was referring to, or whether it meant detonating nuclear warheads.
