Relatively Cold Weather on Sunday Precedes a Weather Depression on Monday Evening

Khaberni - On Sunday, there will be an increase in temperatures, recording above the general averages for this time of the year by about (3-4) degrees Celsius, with the weather remaining relatively cold in most regions, while being pleasantly warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

According to the meteorological department's report, a slight decrease in temperatures will occur on Monday, with the weather remaining cold in most regions, and pleasantly warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Some clouds are expected at different altitudes, and the winds will be southwesterly active, stirring dust in the desert areas.

Maximum and minimum temperatures in East Amman will range between 17 - 7 degrees Celsius, in West Amman 15- 5, in the northern highlands 13- 3, in Sharah highlands 12- 2, in the desert areas 19 - 6, in the plains areas 17 - 7, in the northern Jordan Valley 22 - 10, in the southern Jordan Valley 25 - 13, in the Dead Sea 24 - 12, and in the Gulf of Aqaba 24- 13 degrees Celsius.

On Monday, a slight decrease in temperatures will occur, and the weather will be cold in most regions, and pleasantly warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with clouds appearing at different altitudes, and the winds will be southwesterly active, stirring dust in the desert areas.

The weather at night will be very cold, and the kingdom will gradually be affected by a weather depression centered over Cyprus, turning the weather from partly cloudy to cloudy, with showers in the north and central parts of the kingdom and parts of the southwest. Later at night, the showers can sometimes be heavy, possibly accompanied by thunder and hail in parts of the north and center, and the winds will be southwesterly active with strong gusts reaching speeds of (50-60) km/h.

The Meteorological Administration warns of the risk of flash floods during the late-night hours, especially in the northern and central Jordan Valley, valleys, and low areas in the north and center of the kingdom, due to the intensity of rainfall and strong wind gusts.

Visibility may be reduced due to dust in the desert areas, and due to the formation of fog and low clouds touching the ground over mountainous elevations, increasing the risks of slipping on roads with the onset of rainfall, urging citizens to exercise caution and care while driving.

In the early hours of Tuesday, the impact of a very cold air mass of polar origin accompanying the weather depression centered over Cyprus will deepen, causing a noticeable drop in temperatures, and bringing cold, cloudy, and rainy weather in most areas.

It is expected that the rainfall could sometimes be heavy and may be accompanied by thunder and hail in some areas, with the chance of light snow showers falling over high mountain peaks, occasionally mixed with rain, and potentially accumulating to a limited extent over the high southern mountains (Sharah), with westerly winds active with strong gusts reaching speeds of (50-60) km/h, stirring dust in the desert areas. During the night, the precipitation gradually weakens.

On Wednesday, there will be a slight rise in temperatures, with the weather remaining cold in most areas, with a chance for light rain showers from time to time in the north and center of the kingdom and limited parts of the southwest.
