Khaberni - Malwarebytes, an American company specializing in cybersecurity said that a group of unknown hackers stole data from more than 17 million accounts on the social media platform "Instagram".
The company stated in a statement published on the social media platform X: "Cybercriminals were able to steal sensitive information from 17.5 million Instagram accounts, including usernames, mailing addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and more."
Notebookcheck, a leading and trusted international source specializing in in-depth reviews, testing, and news related to laptops, tablets, and smartphones, reported that the cybercriminals might use the stolen data in phishing attacks and account theft.
According to the site's information, in 2024 a security vulnerability occurred that led to the current leak and theft.
