Khaberni – The Egyptian national team qualified for the semi-finals of the African Nations Cup 2025 in football, after defeating the Ivory Coast team with a score of 3-2.
Omar Marmoush opened the scoring for the Egyptian team in the third minute, during the first attack of the match.
The Pharaohs added the second goal in the 32nd minute, through Rami Rabia who headed in a corner kick executed by Mohamed Salah, making the score 2-0.
The Ivory Coast team narrowed the gap in the 40th minute, after Ahmed Fotouh accidentally scored in Egypt's goal amidst a crowded scene in front of the net, making the score 2-1.
In the second half, specifically in the 52nd minute, Mohamed Salah reinforced Egypt's lead by scoring the third goal, benefiting from a precise ground cross from Imam Ashour, making the score 3-1.
The Ivory Coast team reduced the gap again in the 73rd minute, following a corner kick that caused defensive confusion, where goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy blocked a shot only for the ball to rebound in front of Doui who netted it, ending the match with a score of 3-2.
The Egyptian national team will face the Senegalese team in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
