Khaberni - Yarmouk Water Company has started implementing a new management mechanism that involves affixing notification stickers on water subscriptions for which meters are inaccessible during the monthly reading tour. This step aims to reduce estimated bills and enhance communication with subscribers.
The company explained that the sticker is placed in a visible location on the door of the house or the property enclosed by external fences, or near the locked meter box. It includes a notice that the collector could not read the meter and clarifies the reason for the inability, in addition to a phone number through the "WhatsApp" application allowing the subscriber to communicate directly and send a picture of the meter reading. It also notes the issuance of an estimated bill for that cycle if checking the actual reading is not possible.
Saleh Al-Momani, Director of the Water Department in Irbid Governorate, stated today, Saturday, that the new measure serves the subscribers' interest and gives them the chance to secure their actual readings, pointing out that the notification sticker enhances transparency and strengthens communication channels between the collector and the subscription holder.
He added that allowing the subscriber to photograph the meter reading and send it directly via "WhatsApp" reduces reliance on estimates and ensures accurate and fair calculation of the actual consumption, noting that the idea represents a significant shift in the management of field readings.
Al-Momani pointed out that Yarmouk Water Company has managed to reduce the percentage of estimated bills to low levels, less than 3 percent, confirming that this step is part of the company's program to update its operational procedures and improve the efficiency of the service provided to citizens.
