With New Free Features Available Gmail Becomes a Smart Assistant

Khaberni - Google announced a series of new changes aimed at improving the user experience in Gmail, by offering three AI-powered features free of charge to regular users, instead of being confined to paid subscriptions in Google AI Pro and Ultra plans.

This move comes at a time when Google is trying to expand the use of its smart tools and attract more users to its daily mail services, and compete with other services that use artificial intelligence to facilitate email management.

It is worth mentioning that Google still retains additional paid options for professionals, such as text correction tools and deeper summaries for subscribers in the higher plans.

Help Me Write Feature

This feature allows the user to enter simple instructions like "write a polite follow-up message about a delayed bill" and Gmail automatically generates a ready-to-send draft, which can be edited or sent as is.

Suggested Replies Feature

This feature uses the context of the conversation and the user's tone to suggest replies that match the user's writing style. Unlike traditional replies, the suggestions become more realistic and suit everyday discourse.

Artificial Intelligence Summaries

When opening a long and complex message thread, a smart summary card appears at the top of the conversation presenting the main points succinctly, helping the user understand the essence without needing to read each message one after the other.

Important Step

These updates come in the context of Google's efforts to transform its mail experience from just a list of messages to a smart personal assistant capable of simplifying daily tasks.

Thanks to these features, users will no longer need to read each email carefully or try to write complex replies themselves.

Some sources also confirmed that this step also paves the way for the emergence of the new AI Inbox feature, which offers a comprehensive overview of the email content and organizes messages according to priority and importance, a feature that has begun to appear to some users.
