Syrian Minister of Information SDF uses civilians in Aleppo as human shields

Khaberni - The Syrian Minister of Information, Hamza Al-Mustafa, said today, Saturday, that elements from "SDF" and the Kurdistan Workers' Party converted a number of civilian facilities in the Sheikh Maqsood neighborhood in Aleppo into concentration points, and are still using them to target civilians.

The minister explained, as reported by Syria TV, that the elements fortified themselves inside hospitals and medical centers, and took civilians as human shields.

He added: "With the advance of the Syrian Arab Army forces and their success in combing through most of the combat sites within the neighborhood, some desperate elements are seeking refuge in certain hospitals and medical centers, taking those inside as human shields."

Al-Mustafa emphasized the "necessity of completely neutralizing civilians and protecting them, and not involving service facilities, especially medical ones, in military actions or for political and media use, in compliance with international humanitarian law and to preserve the lives of the innocent."

Agence France-Presse published photos, which it said were of the Church Cemetery in the Sheikh Maqsood neighborhood, used by members of the Syrian Democratic Forces as a main headquarters.

The Syrian Ministry of Health said this morning that the Kurdistan Workers' Party and the armed groups affiliated with it forced doctors and staff to leave Yasin Hospital in Sheikh Maqsood neighborhood, before converting it into a military site fortifying inside it, after their withdrawal before the advance of the Syrian Arab Army.

The ministry warned in a post on "Facebook" for residents to stay away from the hospital and its surroundings to ensure their safety.

This comes at a time when the Syrian Arab Army announced the complete end of combing operations in the Sheikh Maqsood neighborhood in the city of Aleppo and began working on establishing public order, with the aim of enhancing security and stability in the area.
