Public Works 52 reports since the start of the lowpressure system all observations addressed on site

Khaberni - The spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Omar Al-Muharrema, said that the ministry's staff dealt with 52 reports until Saturday morning, due to the weather condition that affected the kingdom since Friday morning, including 32 reports directly related to the repercussions of the low-pressure system and about 20 reports of routine failures including "road lighting, traffic signals, and traffic accidents".

Al-Muharrema clarified that the weather-related reports were concentrated in several Public Works directorates, especially in Irbid, Jerash, Balqa, the capital, Karak, Tafilah, and Madaba, ranging from soil and rock slides, water and silt accumulation, to obstacles falling on roads, confirming that all were addressed within the jurisdiction and with the required speed.

He pointed out that some sites and roads experienced temporary precautionary closures, especially in the Karak governorate until the roads were secured and the slides removed, while no observations were recorded in the Public Works directorates of Ramtha, Mafraq, Ajloun, Zarqa, Ma'an, and Aqaba.

He added that the ministry's teams continued their field inspection tours around the clock to monitor the condition of roads and culverts, and direct visual communications were held with the directors of Public Works and their staff in several locations, attended by the Minister of Public Works and Housing, the Secretary-General, and several concerned directors to assess the situation in areas that had observations during the previous and current low-pressure systems.
