Khaberni - The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its deep regret for the damage inflicted on the building of the embassy of the sister state of Qatar due to the bombing in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.
The Ministry said in a statement: The Kingdom emphasizes the need to provide protection for members of diplomatic missions and their headquarters in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, and renews its support for diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the (Russian - Ukrainian) crisis peacefully.
Qatar greatly regretted that its embassy building in Ukraine had been damaged due to the bombing of the capital Kyiv last night, while also confirming that none of the diplomats or embassy staff were harmed.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs - in a statement today, Friday - emphasized the necessity of sparing embassies, diplomatic missions, international organizations' headquarters, and civilian facilities the consequences of crises, and providing protection for their staff under international law.
The Ministry renewed the state of Qatar's firm stance calling for resolution of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis through dialogue and peaceful means, in line with the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, and its full support for all international efforts aimed at de-escalation.
