Khaberni - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi received the American Special Envoy to Syria, Thomas Barak, on Friday evening.
Safadi and Barak discussed the developments in the Syrian Arab Republic in the context of ongoing cooperation and coordination to support the Syrian government in its efforts to ensure Syria’s security, sovereignty, unity, stability, and the rights and safety of all its citizens.
Safadi and Barak also discussed the developments in Aleppo and confirmed the commitment of both the Kingdom and the United States to support efforts aimed at establishing a ceasefire, the peaceful withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from Aleppo, and ensuring the security and safety of all civilians. They also emphasized the necessity of immediate implementation of the agreement from March 10, 2025, which had been previously agreed upon by the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces.
Safadi and Barak affirmed the continued joint work on implementing the roadmap "to end the crisis in Sweida and stabilize southern Syria," which was approved in Syria on September 16, 2025, emphasizing the need to resolve the crisis in Sweida.
