Khaberni - Media reports confirmed that coach Pep Guardiola has entered the history of football through its widest gates after completing the signing deal with Antoine Semenyo for 72 million euros.
The account Transfer News Live on Twitter stated that the Spanish coach has become the first coach in history to exceed the two-billion euros threshold in total spending on signings during his coaching career. An unprecedented figure reflecting the scale of the projects led by the Spanish coach, and the nature of the major clubs he has worked within.
It was explained: "This record comes in the context of a long career of Guardiola with elite clubs, notably Manchester City, where he has been coaching since 2016".
He continued: "During this period, the club pumped huge investments to support the technical project, yet the figures reveal another side of the picture, which is the coach's ability to manage the market efficiently compared to his competitors."
He added: "Despite the total spending of Pep Guardiola reaching more than two billion euros, the net spending since he took over coaching Manchester City was about 1.1 billion euros only, which is less than the net spending of Manchester United and Arsenal during the same period, reflecting City's success in achieving financial returns from selling players, alongside the long-term planning of its signing policies."
He completed: "This achievement reopens the discussion about the relationship between spending and success, as the name Guardiola is associated with domestic and continental titles, leading many to consider that the large numbers were not random spending, but part of a comprehensive sports project, based on continuity and building teams capable of dominating for years".
