380000 homes in France without electricity due to storm

Khaberni - About 380,000 homes in France lost power after storm Gorty swept through the northwest of the country overnight, where wind speeds reached 200 kilometers per hour.

Despite many fallen trees and disturbances, only six people sustained minor injuries, according to an initial assessment conducted by the Ministry of the Interior, as reported by French media today, Friday.

In Brittany, a peninsula extending into the Atlantic Ocean, waves ranging from 10 to 13 meters in height struck some coastal areas overnight. In northern France, no trains are expected to run today, Friday, with few exceptions. Rail services in Normandy and Brittany are expected to resume in the afternoon.

The Greater Paris area also experienced disturbances, in addition to the regions of Alsace and Lorraine, and schools remain closed in the Manche and Seine-Maritime regions. Authorities had issued urgent warnings about the storm risks, urging citizens to stay indoors as much as possible. The storm has since subsided.
