Khaberni - A spokesperson for the German Foreign Ministry said on Friday that his country calls on Israel to stop the controversial E1 settlement project, and warns that the project threatens to increase the disturbances in the West Bank and the region.
The spokesperson added in a routine government press conference: "It's necessary to point out that the plans to establish the E1 settlement project are part of an overall intensification of the settlement policy in the West Bank, which we have observed recently," he said.
He continued, saying: "This project threatens to increase disturbances because it will impose additional restrictions on the movements of Palestinian residents in the West Bank," and it will undermine the prospects for a two-state solution.
