Khaberni - Within two weeks, the artist Ahmed Abdel Hamid was devastated by the death of his father, the makeup artist Mohamed Abdel Hamid, and his daughter «Laila», which greatly affected the young actor, who expressed his «incomprehensible» state, according to what he said in a Facebook post.
The artist Ahmed Abdel Hamid wrote: «I do not know if God loves me or not because He took my father and my daughter in two weeks.. God gave, God took, May God compensate us and we say nothing but what pleases God.. To God we belong and to Him we shall return.»
The great shock that «Abdel Hamid» received was reflected in his last words in the post: «My daughter is an angel with God and alongside my father.. I cannot handle anyone talking to me or consoling me.. It will be a little while and I will be alright, God willing.»
The departure of the father and then the daughter followed a period of hardship that plagued the young artist for months, where he endured a series of health crises inside his family, starting with his daughter's illness, through the deterioration of his father's condition, leading up to their death, in a stop that marked a harsh journey of pain and hope.
The struggle with the daughter's illness
The struggle of «Laila» began in March 2025, when the father wrote a post on Facebook, asking his followers to pray for her after she fell into a coma.
He wrote then: «Laila is now in a coma for a few days due to repeated convulsions and her response to treatment, and it's only by God's hand that she will wake up, and she has no fixed time, so pray for her speedy recovery and responsiveness to treatment and for her consciousness to return».
Over the days, Laila's condition progressively worsened, and fears for her life intensified, until the doctors described her situation as «hopeless».
Amid this harsh reality, «Abdel Hamid» did not lose hope, but continued to share details of the suffering moment by moment, asking for prayers from everyone.
At one point he wrote the following post: «I go down to my work because it's my job and I have to do it justice, but that doesn't mean I'm not in distress.. Laila my daughter is still very sick and the doctors see that her case is hopeless».
He continued, addressing his followers: «Please do not stop praying for her and for us today, especially the night of the 27th and until the end of Ramadan, for those who can, may God reward you all well, and may none of you suffer any harm, and I am confident in God, even if all humans say there is no hope.. My hope in God will always be greater than anything else».
In April 2025, «Abdel Hamid» revealed painful developments about his daughter's situation: «Today, Laila has been two months.. Two months without a single hug.. Without many memories I thought I would build with her, I only saw heartache.. I no longer respond to anyone asking how your daughter is doing because of so much frustration and I keep saying that she's not well and there's nothing new».
He added: «Two months and the most important doctors in Egypt do not know how to diagnose her condition at least and it's not due to their negligence but rather it's God's will that her condition is new and perplexing like this, I knocked on all doors with God and on my capacity I did not fall short and I'll continue striving with God, hoping He comforts me and her mother».
The father's struggle
In parallel with his daughter's ordeal, «Abdel Hamid» was facing another harsh reality after announcing in December 2025 that his father, who had been accompanying him since childhood to shooting locations, had a sudden health crisis.
The condition of the father required him to be admitted to a hospital, and the young artist asked his audience to pray, affirming his belief in the power of prayer: «Prayer changes fate.. Please pray for my father may God perform a miracle, and return him to us again, and heal him, oh Lord.»
Despite attempts at treatment, his father's health continued to decline, until he passed away, leaving a large void in the life of his son, who expressed his deep sadness in powerful words he posted on Facebook.
The son wrote, accompanying his words with a picture of him with his father: «This picture is from your last birthday with me, and when I took it, my heart told me it was your last birthday, and the last time I would be able to make you happy, but neither I nor you knew then that your happiness was coming and that God would grant you the eternal beginning in His paradise, God willing, with a cheerful face just like everyone who bid you farewell saw».
He spoke about his father's feelings of being forgotten in his last years, and how he would rejoice upon hearing that someone still remembered him, asserting that the scenes of love he saw at his funeral and condolence gatherings and on social media pages revealed to him the great status his father had in people's hearts: «You used to tell me in the last years that I'm forgotten, Ahmad, and when I tell you someone says send my regards to (the professor), you say, oh good, thank God, he still remembers me or her».
He added: «If you saw the love of people for you after you left, whether at your funeral or at your wake, or even on their pages, you would know how great you were and you will remain a history and your story will continue to be sweet and cover us as long as we are alive.»
He continued: «But I know that none of this concerns you now, my uncle, and you are enjoying the mercy of God in paradise with all your loved ones, and this is my only consolation, may God have mercy on you, the kindest heart and the best father, and make me a worthy successor to you, continuing to preserve your name, your story, and your morals that you left in the hearts of people, see you later, Hammad».
And «Abdel Hamid» confirmed that his only consolation is his certainty that his father is enjoying God's mercy, praying to be a good successor to him, preserving his name, his story, and his morals: «But I know that none of this concerns you now, my uncle, and you are enjoying the mercy of God in paradise with all your loved ones, and this is my only consolation, may God have mercy on you, the kindest heart and the best father, and make me a worthy successor to you, continuing to preserve your name, your story, and your morals that you left in the hearts of people, see you later, Hammad».
